Due to the variety and specific character of agro-climatic conditions in Bulgaria, most of Bulgarian Oriental tobaccos combine taste and aroma with good burning rate and high cigarette yield. The tobacco varieties, grown in Bulgaria are characterised by their ecological purity.

The level of nicotine in the Bulgarian Oriental tobaccos varies from 0.8 to 2.1 per cent and that of soluble carbohydrates - from 7 to 15 per cent. The content of chlorine is low and seldom exceeds 0.3 per cent.
