Bulgartabac processes tobaccos in 19 processing plants.

The Oriental tobacco is processed through a technology, traditional for this tobacco type. The difference between Bulgaria and the rest of the Oriental tobacco producing countries is the artificial chamber fermentation.

Bulgartabac has invented and implements the artificial tobacco fermentation. Chamber fermentation was first applied in the country in 1965. Bulgartabac's experts are still leading in constructing and using chambers for tobacco fermentation as well as in applying specific fermentation regimes for Oriental tobacco. Recently, some of the tobacco lots were naturally fermented at the request of some of our customers.
